Tunnel DNS queries

There are lots of info on securing web browsing via some kind of tunneling - ssh/squid/firefox w/ remote dns proxy enabled.
Has anyone setup a tunnel just for dns queries.
Since dns queries are udp, its probably not supported by openssh (as openssh only supports tcp).

Although it is described as a way of illegaly getting free internet from paid WiFis, the idea sounds interesting.
If your only looking for something that hides your DNS queries while your browsing then you could use an SSL enabled web surfer like:
www.beatfiltering.com/
