Kernel 2.6.0 released ! was created by sahirh
The stable version of the new kernel 2.6.0 has been released.. among the usual its faster and its more stable claims, it includes the new ALSA sound system and snappier mouse handling.. among a lot of other things
www.kernel.org for your pleasure.
If anyone has upgraded a 2.4.x kernel to 2.6 please post your observations.. I'm being a bit timid.. the only linux box I have up is my RedHat 9 2.4.20-8 system and I'm just so happy with it I don't want to recompile the kernel just yet.
However curiosity will get the better of me soon.....

Awesome ! About time.
I've got to first find the time to see if my Redhat server is still running, before I attempt to upgrade it's kernel
Its 6am here in Greece and I'm still at work... its been another all nighter unfortunately.
We have a critical Windows server that's decided to spit the dummy, so we've spent all night ghosting the raid at IDE's and other scsi drives with no luck.
I wish I could simply upgrade its kernel with one click
