The corrupted scrren you posted is the classic 24-bit colour depth bug that you get when installing Linux into a Virtual Machine. Have a look at my post in 'The pain of a Linux newbie', think it's on page 3, where there is a link to an article explaining how to get round this


As I have above states :-)


he needs to install using text mode and convert his graphics to install using 16 bit mode to fix it

Yup, tried and failed, seems to get further but the text setup screens are off the screen so i cannot see whats going on.

The post you said about the screens i thougth you meant in VirtualPC, i was looking everywhere to change the screen type, lol :wink:

Infact, i really must be missing something here, i cannot even get the text to display properly. Think i saw a link in the great article TheBishop found explaining VirtualPC2007 a little better so gonna go and read that.

Doh, i cannot read simple instructions, missed out the bit that tells you to press F4 first to select your display type.........
