debian server was created by flexy
Hi, am configuring a debian server(gateway) but it does not ping other clients in the LAN and the clients cant ping the server.So it doesnt send traffic and doesnt received.Can someone help me?????????

hi flexy,
since you can't ping clients from the server and hosts can't ping the server, it might be that the problem is within the networking of the server to the LAN. check if the cables are properly in place espcially the one connected to the server to switch/hub and make sure that the cable is properly configured (straight-thru cable). if the cables are good then you might want to check the ip configuration of server, be sure that it is under the same ip scheme used in the network under the same subnet.
also, further details regarding network config, etc. might be useful if the above possbile solutions don't work.

Also, to narrow down the possibilities, make sure that no (smart - and - don't - care - about - RFC - compliance) firewall is running on either the clients or the server.
