is linux free from virus? is there an anti virus service that could be integrated on a linux firewall? i read about clamav but it says that it is being integrated to a mail server.

Yes, Linux is mostly free from all mass-spreading malware. There are some Antivirus Engines like Clamav, those can be used through console to detect viruses in any file, but they are usually used to protect windows machines, if the linux box serves as a mail/file/other server.

Of course there should be others, more windows-like and commercial, but in my opinion they're totally unnecessary.

On mailservers I've used F-Prot and ClamAV, and I've found ClamAV to consume far less resources. I see it removes many infected messages every day, but like Sahir says, they're all Signature-based Antiviruses so don't rely too much on them!
