hmmm is there any documentation or pointers on how to:

i wanna be able to dial into my workstation from anywhere (a friends house, my college) now the thing is SSH isnt bad but i guess id need to be the host correct? Also i have some XP pro stations a SuSE10 station and a soon to be dual booting slax and pro station. can i get documentation on how to and what is? also if u would like the full setup ill be more than happy to give u.

I am not sure I understood the situation, do you have a permanent internet connection at home and you want a way to access remotely over the internet, or you want to dial-up over the phone line through a modem?

In both cases ssh would be allright -though in the second case things are quite more complex to setup. If you will connect over some permanent internet connection, please provide some details about it, like whether you have static or dynamic IP address(es), the equipment you use and how your workstation connects to the outside.
