Are you able to access other URLs? The URL in question: [code:1]/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official[/code:1]
is incomplete. It is part of the URL for the default firefox start page and should really be: [code:1]http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official[/code:1]
If you still have problems with other URLs, give us an idea of your setup and post your squid.conf file.

hi Dalight,

i think my problem was solved,

i missed a single line in the squid.conf, it is the 'httpd_accel_host virtual', so when i put this line and restart the squid. all works fine now. the problem was gone. seems this line is not included in the default of squid.conf of a newly installed squid.

the problem came when i reinstalled everything in this PC, the FC4, the network configuration and some services for the purpose of familiarization and learning. :)

anyway thanks Dalight.

Squid is...

--) a full-featured Web proxy cache
--) designed to run on Unix systems
--) free, open-source software
--) the result of many contributions by unpaid (and paid) volunteers

Thought of Googling it

I guess some kind of a web-proxy for LINUX

Next would be SP (Service Provider)
CCNA, CCNP (Switching), CCIE#20640

monsky:
i'm newbie in linux as well as firewall. Can you give me some guideline of how to integrate between iptables, squid and dansguardian?
i had try for couple of days... but i still fail to make up the integration. what i could see is Access denial message from browser.

Thanks in advance.
