OK everyone, lets take a poll. In your opinions, what is your favorite Linux/Unix Distribution? Personally, I like Ubuntu.

I dont know linux all that well, but I've used a few different distros and I found Suse is a fantastic destkop OS. Especially the initial install. It's incredibly easy. And if you want to dual boot it sets it up for you.

In my experience the best distribution to learn the whereabouts with no stupid problems is Slackware. After that you can procede to Gentoo, which rocks them all upside down!

Definitely, Slackware for me. However, I'm currently tracking Ubuntu.

i've already tried fedora core 4 and seems ok. right now i'm trying out slackware and as nske pointed out, you will have not much of worries. i'm also testing out OpenSuse and Ubuntu as well.

I like Debian based distros and my favorite is Ubuntu. Apt-get is just awesome. I'd like to give Gentoo a venture someday when I'm feeling brave.
