Knoppix 4.0.2 problems was created by rojaco01
Hey all,
I downloaded Knoppix 4.0.2 cd & dvd version but i cant seem to get either of them to work. When I try the dvd version on my main comp it gets to a strange opening screen which says something like "kernel in panic mode..." then it just freezes, when i try using the cd version it just gives me a black screen. Is it because its an 64-bit proc? I really have no idea. When I try to use the cd on my "test comp" it gets to the loading screen where it shows the the blured road but it doesnt get past that...my test comp is just a 800mhz athlon, with 192 megs of ram. I was just wondering if any of you are familiar with this issue, if you need a more exact message i'll be glad to give it to you. Thanks a lot, you have all saved me quite a few times.

I finally figured it out!
I tried using failsafe boot option and I was able to boot up fine. So I figured It defenately has to be a hardware problem. Then I took another look at the message I was recieving and at the very top it mentioned something like
/drivers/scsi/....
So what i did was boot it with "knoppix no{scsi}" and then I was able to boot up fine. I probably should have taken a better look at the error message in the first place but oh well.
