Hahahha, ....then you must be really old tom
My first computer was an Amstrad 664 with a 360kb fdd. It had a colour monitor and was powered by the good old Z80 cpu that ran at 4 or 8 Mhz.
This beast had 64Kb of ram and used the "Basic" language as an operating system. From memory, it had an 4 Channel OPL FM sythensizer chip as a sound card where the sound of a drum, sounded like someone hitting a tin can, but I guess thats because the system didn't come with a sub woofer

I had a color monitor too.
It was a 12 inch Sampo TV that I bought with the Apple. Was actually a pretty good TV.

Ok. Here is my DG core memory board. I can't remember how much. It is either 16 K or 64 K. I'll have to check it out tomorrow and re-edit this then.
You'll notice the core memory in the middle of the full size Board (about 14 inches). The core memory is a matrix of real thin wires. The 2nd picture is just of the core memory itself. The 3rd is a real closeup shot. You can see the wires running along the matrixes as well as in the runs.
Cool huh !!!!

Wow!
It's been years since I saw a memory core like that!
I remember at University, we had a few similar boards in our labs.
Those are really cool pictures tom. Anyone got similar pics to share?
