I guess the forum name is a bit murky.. somehow i assumed cool software would be relating to cool NETWORKING software.... however to indulge your DVD ripping desires.. you din't mention which OS ! Some linux distributions come with very nice pre-packaged tools..

for windows, a quick google on DVD ripping and DeCSS should yield some results.

Chris - does this forum deal with *any* cool software.. personally i feel firewall.cx is a networking hub, and should stay that way... just my 2 cents
