Hi good people of firewall forums,

Im quite baffled with the result im getting whenever i transfer 100mbps (pc1) going to PC2 using jperf.

Im sending 100Mbps, but All i get on the other end is only 7Mbps.

Setup:
PC1 manually configured (full duplex / 100Mbps) connected to 100Mbps switch port #1
PC2 Mannually configured (full duplex /10Mbps) connected to 100Mbps swith port #2

PC 1 is the client, and the one sending 100Mbps
PC 2 is the server and keeps getting only 7Mbps.

Hi

Just noticed you configured the second PC as full duplex /10Mbps. Maybe that's the reason why it's getting only 7 Mbps. Why don't you try to set it up as 100 Mbps as well. Or maybe just put it on auto negotiation?

Cheers

I'd second Arani on that. It's probably because of that 10Mps. The speed of any connection is defines by it's lowest link. Make sure also that you used either Cat5e or Cat6 cables.

Thanks for the reply guys,

It turned out i have a crappy laptop. I isolated the laptop and it seems im having problems with the previous. altho, i did check if the laptop is using 10Mbps but it wasn't.
