SSH tunneling proxy for firefox under Vista failed to connec

U could use SSH tunneling as a way to proxy web access.
Here is what u could do:
1. In PuTTY, go to Connection -> SSH -> Tunnels
2. Add new forwarded port.
Source Port: 1080
Destination: [blank]
DYNAMIC (this is important), Auto. Click on Add.
3. In Firefox, go to:
Tools->Options->Advanced->Network->Settings
enter host 127.0.0.1 (localhost) with port 1080.
The above works fine with Firefox under XP. ('')
However , it does not work for Firefox under Vista. ('')
But, IE does work.
Anyone has any ideas and/or suggestions.

Edit
never mind already know how to.
how can you tell if the tunneling is working with Firefox?
