Long Haul networks was created by S0lo
I'm currently doing some research while developing a fibre optics network simulator used to evaluate dynamic routing and wavelength assignment algorithms in terms of network performance.
I'm having hard time finding people interested or envolved in this field. I have some questions about OXCs (Optical Cross Connects) and what fibre cable types are used in such backbone networks. I'm reading that some fibres can hande like 80 and more wavelengths. I believe that this is not possible with single or multimode fibre.
If any one here is working or has worked on OXCs, or has some background please tell.
