This may not be the site for this but I hope I can get some help from some folks here.
I need to learn scripting and don't know where to start. The company I work for won't spring for SMS (not yet anyway) and I am needing to learn how script so that I can push these out the site that I manage. Can anyone suggest any books or where to start?
It would be greatly appreciated.

Someone where i work has recently bought this book which i flicked through and looked ok, so much so i am going to order it
www.amazon.co.uk/Windows-Command-Line-Ad.../026-2076802-0244403
Should help ya out with batch files.
Not too sure about Windows Shell Scripting though, never really had much dealings with that myself but there are books out there for that also.
Maybe someone else can suggest some Shell Scripting books.
Cheers
