At this point, you're probably better off investing on a Cisco Pix firewall title to help you get into the world of PIX firewalls as its not a topic that can be taught from within a forum

I'm just wondering if this is some kind of Sales Pitch to buy Cisco Products, since you are going to provide a free Cisco Lab?

Well, he's not pitching the PIX firewall so much as suggesting buying a book on PIX basics. I understand there will be a PIX firewall in the Cisco lab to get some hands on experience with -- nice. I'm looking forward to this because I've never had access to a PIX before.

No - it's no sales pitch.

if you want to learn the pix, i would invest in one of the cisco press books and a pix 501
the book is cheap, i have a couple of them that i could recommend if you are interested

the book alone will not do it
purchasing a pix 501 is the cheapest investment on hardware
or you could rent online time and hammer through some structure labs

you can rent time on the net and get some experiance with the pix'
if you are serious about learning the pix, the book alone will not do it

you can rent a rack with a pix nad vpn etc at www.ciscolabs.ca
