imac cd rom drive problem

I manage the IT department of an organisation that has close to 50 imac systems, T2500, 0.98GB. the problem is that they easily develope cd rom problem, sometimes due to power outage.

Thought it would be that. I know that it exists but don't know how to fix it

Since the machines are a bit old, so Apple won't fix them for free, I suggest you open one up and have a look at the drive. Changing them might be an option.

I know it's easy to open the G5 iMacs, so have fun!
