My Monitor shocks like a 220v live wire

Pls I need help for my monitor.whenever I power it and switch it on, the screen and the front chassis shocks badly. It is a Mercury CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) Monitor - 17"(17 inches) :!: :?

pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Extreme danger!
Stop using it at once and get it checked out. Also check the wiring of your mains lead on the monitor and the socket from which it is powered. You might have the live and earth reversed or perhaps the earth missing or disconnected.
Either way it needs looking at

thanx 4 d help. It is the glass and the plastic part of the body that shocks. I dont know how and why insulators should shock.:oops:

Monitors start going bad best to get rid of them. Cut the cable so nobody else will try to use it and take it to the local dump.

I've seen one of those things catch fire (luckily I was around at the time) and they can really go. Plus if the screen goes bang you really don't want to be within 10 feet of it.

Really not worth the risk.
