Probelm with CDRW and DVDrw

everytime i put a blank disc in my computer it restarts when it trys to read it or i try and put something on it.
any ideas on how to fix it

What OS are you running? And did you recently change or add any hardware?

I would do one suggestion:
For my opinion do not connec the CDRW on the same channel as dhe primary disk thet holds the OS.

In this way you increase the speed of writing
