Hi Folks,
I found an interesting little tool that can take the guess work out of subnetting etc:
jodies.de/ipcalc?host=192.168.1.150&mask1=24&mask2=
Have a play with this, it gives you the subnet mask, ip addresses etc.

It's basically as jwj says. CIDR is basically subnetting as we know it with the added benefit of reducing the size of the routing tables in the core internet routers. Have a look at

Yeah i prefer to do it in the brain without a pen & a paper preferably, gives food for brain
