I am facing problem in some problem in assigning IP address to machines.
Pls help me.

> If the IP is 200.100.32.0 & 2nd IP is 200.100.33.0,then the communication works.(In Class C subnet)

> But if I give IP as 200.100.32.255 & 2nd as 200.100.33.255
Communication doesn't work.
Why this happens?

Upto my knolwedge, the broadcast IP will be 200.100.32.256 & 200.100.33.256,I'snt it?

no, because of the limitations of computing, a single octet can only carry the value up to 255 thus 255 in the host octet of a class c address signifies the broadcast address of that particular network. This changes with subnetting although, which I encourage you to read up on the basics of ip addressing and subnetting, all of which you can find on this site

As soon as our Cisco lab is online - you'll have access to real equipment for free :)

The catch is that your going to have to be very patient until its completed!
