I agree.
Faster networks means you can have errors - faster :lol:
Actually, that is the difference is the main difference between the two. You are trading speed for reliability.
I myself would go for the reliability.

Cisco switches default on store and forward and have two types of cut-through configurations. Fast-forward is what you have already described above.
There is also Fragment-Free where the switch reads the first 64 bytes of a packet. "In a properly functioning network, collision fragments must be smaller than 64 bytes. Anything greater than 64 bytes is a valid packet and is usually received without error." (The quote is from Version 3.1 Cisco Academy online curriculum.)
