Configuring Cisco Hardware From A Mobile Phone was created by einklienermench
Hi everyone, fist of all im not sure that im in the right sub-forum so please redirect me if i am not.
My question is this:
Is the nokia n900 maemo 5 linux device is capable of connecting to a cisco device to the console port and using a bluetooth keyboard configure the device?
OS Wise this is the MOST flexible platform for any developer/Technician
Specs wise this device is blessed with a powerfull processor and more ram than most pc's from 2 years ago.
This device is capable of using a wireless mouse/keyboard for its features and im interested in skipping the laptop buy and use this device to configure cisco gear.
Is it possible?

I haven't heard this type of a request before, but if you are able to run a 'telnet' program on your mobile, you should be able to configure any CLI based Cisco device.
If you're hoping to perform the configuration using web-based GUI, I really wouldn't know, but I guess if your mobile supported the necessary Java version, it could work.
Hope that helps!

the thing is how you connect your N900 to the cisco device?
you can use telnet through xterm that comes with N900 if you have wireless connection.
I think N900's keyboard is good enough to make configurations
without another keyboard.
You should enabled root to do telnet and other stuffs through xterm.
