Can we increase teh number of hosts using subnetting? was created by Rel4
Hi ,
I am new to this networking world.Have a basic qn on subnetting
Using Subnetting can we increase the number of system that can be connected in a network
For example take in case of company having Class C IP address from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.255.Using subnetting concept is it possible to have more than 254 systems connected. If so,can some one explain how this can be done

Being that your on a Class C network, 254 hosts is indeed the max number of hosts. But you can go with a Class B network for a total of 65,534 hosts or a Class A network for a total of 16,777,214 hosts.
