networking

hi,
How can I set up networking for a workgoup cluster with three computers for file sharing. One as the server and the rest two as a slave.
The computers were connected with switch and how can i run the test ?

Hey bro since u have no main host that does the ip addressing let me make it so simple for u to play around with...

since its just simple file sharing do this on the IP interface of ur 3 network cards:

On the system u have named the server give it this IP address - 192.168.2.2, Subnet - 255.255.255.0, leave the default gateway blank.

On the second system (the client) the IP will be 192.168.2.4, subnet is same as above.
On the third system (the 2nd client) the IP will be 192.168.2.5

after doing this simple task, try and ping client 2 from the server. if u see a reply then u are good to go.

Note
if no reply u put a default gateway on the server and the clients as well - 192.168.2.1.
