Basics of Port Binding was created by FutureTech
Hey Guys -
I've just recently started learning about broadband network architectures and had some questions on Port Binding for DSL clients.
My knowledge thus far is just the basic concept of port binding where the DSLAM inserts the home-port identity information into the PAP authentication packet and relays the information to the B-RASS.
In my readings I've come across something called PPPoE +, which has something to do with port binding. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
My second question is do all DSLAMs new and old have the capability to bind ports to users, or is it only with the newer IP-DSLAMs?
Like I said I'm just learning so please bear with me.
Thank you.
