Bootp is a protocol (bootstrap protocol) use to dynamically assign IP addresses to *nix devices.

Rarp (reverse arp) is a protocol to find the IP address given the MAC address.

i know that rarp and bootp protocols are used for the physical - ip address mapping but can any one tell me wats the difference between them??
