Foundry Network hardware on the choping block

I was able to buy (insanely cheep) a Foundry Networks BigIron 8000 full of boards and power supplies. I've seen them on Ebay/Sales sites for up to $5,000. And I'm fairly sure I could sell it for at least half that, and still make a profit.

The question i have is... Should I keep it to use in my lab? Or Sell it and use the profits to further boost my lab? I'll likely never have total access to a big piece of equiptment like that again.. but i'm also likely to get alot of smaller pieces if I sell it...

I'm 100% up in the air about this one.. So i was hoping everyone had an opinion... and would be willing to share it.

Thanks all...

What do you want your lab for? If it's for working up through the Cisco certs then the BigIron is probably best exchanged for lots of Cisco kit. But if it's just for your general edification then keep it - nobody else will have a personal lab containing one of those!

Thanks for the responce. I'm probably going to sell it. The ammount of knowledge and exprerience I would get from it, could be considerable.. But I think I need to keep a more narrow focus. I'm "relatively" new to network admin/eng field, so i better get really good at one thing before I try and master a bunch of others...

As always you advice helps alot.
