Snmp Traps vs Syslog Traps was created by koslyr
Lets say that there is a big network with routers & switches (Cisco based) and one very good choice to manage (with GUI not CLI) this one is to use the LMS Ciscoworks as NMS.
One of the most important parameter-requirement of one network is the Fault management with the troubleshooting tools. In order to be fulfilled this demand is necessary to activate at the network equipment the snmp traps and also the syslog traps.
My question is what are the differences between them and additionally if there is the capability to margin the receiving alarms (snmp traps) to NMS from Cisco nodes.
