Cisco 800 series ADSL help was created by johnnymac
Hi,
I have a Cisco 800 series ADSL router (i think it's an 837). It's an old one from work so i don't have much documentation or support with it.
I want to configure it for my home ADSL, preferably using the CLI.
Could anyone give me any info on just simply getting the ADSL up and runnning and then where to go from there ?
What the correct config-register setting is?
How to either clear current config or reset to default settings.
kind Regards

I'd imagine your config-register to boot into flash would be 0x2102 like most Cisco routers. To clear the config, issue the command in priveleged mode "erase nvram:" or "write erase" (then reboot). This
link
gives a template for configuring an 837, however just remember that these are still Cisco routers. Most of the commands and configuration tasks will be the same as say a 2600.
