Sending out a message was created by Vizzy
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum (March 06)
A while back (last year), on our library computers, someone had sent out a message on all of the computers in the form of a dialog box. How exactly was this done? I would guess you would have to gain admin access, or am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I guess he did it using the command:
net send <name | * |domain[|name] | /USERS> message
For example.
net send * Hi
would send the message "Hi" to all the computers on the same domain as myself.
I am not really sure if you need admin rights for this.

Hmmm.....so would that broadcast a message in the form of a dialog box? Because from what I remember, it was a dialog box that could not be closed like normal ones, it was sort of static, but that is an interesting command that you showed me. Thanks.
EDIT: I just searched it up Taurun, thanks. It's actually a dialog box, which is what I wanted. The only confusing part is the actual syntax, but I'll give it a shot. Now I just need to find out if the dialog box will stay there, or disappear when someone clicks "OK".
