try copy the hole directory to a tar file on the tftpsever. Coping only the bin image doesnot archive the htm files that give hte possibility to manege the switch from the web and doesnot allow to build a switch cluster. the comand to archive the cisco software on the new swithches is "archive upload sw ..... "

Johnny, 2 options copy/archive. There is missing command "flash" on the source filename line -- see the e.g. below
Switch-A# copy flash tftp
Source filename []? flash:c3550-i5k2l2q3-mz.121-13.EA1a/c3550-i5k2l2q3-mz.121-13
.EA1a.bin
Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.1.10
Destination filename []? c3550-i5k2l2q3-mz.121-13.EA1a.bin
If you need the details, pls refer to book.itzero.com/read/cisco/0512/Cisco.Pr...00/ch10lev1sec5.html
Hope the info helps
