Network diagram/Subnet trouble was created by Santaz
Hi guys, first time here, this is a pretty basic problem but it's driving me crazy
Please take a look at this picture of the network.

How many subnetworks can u guys see, I believe it's 8 but not sure, would u count those 4 routers in the middle as one subnet since they are all connected?
And where would the first subnet begin
Thanks guys hope u can help out

What are the Ip addresses and subnet masks? As i understand it subnets are created using subnet masks. if everything in that diag. is on say 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 they'd all be on the same, so there would only be one subnet.
or Are asking how one would go about subnetting off that network?

Next would be SP (Service Provider)
CCNA, CCNP (Switching), CCIE#20640

I guess Santaz was talking about the literal term "Subnets" & not the technology term "subnets" which is formed by using subnet masks.
So if i understand your question correctly Santaz there are 8 networks on this network because the WAN links between the 4 routers would each have a network of there own.
And as per your second question there is nothing as the first subnet, coz you can begin your counting from any sub-network.
Hope that answers your question.

six networks(subnets) would do the Job.
From the diagram,
there are four routers,
comm, admin, wombat1, gov.
each router connect to one network beacuse roter terminate broadcast domains, and between these 4 router there exists 1 network and finally the Enterprise Edge that is the ISDN Wan links makes the last network.
so totally 6 networks is sufficient.
