Intervlan Routing was created by Datacom_guy
Hi,
I am learning VLAN's and InterVlan Routing. Can anyone explain me Intervlan Routing or provide me pointers about it? How does a brouter(bridge cum router ) decide whether a frame has to be switched or routed?
Thanks,
Datacom_guy

easy question
if it is integrated in the same machine (router + switch) it does intervlan routing by examining the destinations ip address of the packet that is crossing the box.
if it is withing the same vlan it bridges the frame to the aproppiate port.
If the destination address is outside the vlan it routes the packet again to the apropiate port.
