ok this is kind of a strange question i just want it on writing
i have 2 situations....
1: i got a cisco switch with an optical moduel and a nertel switch with optical moduel. i want to connect the bouth... will it work ok or there be any trauble?
2: i got 1 switch with out optical moduel and 1 with i want to connect them bouth
from a lancast to the optical moduel... will it work fine or there will be any problem.

It will probably work, but it depends on whether the optical modules in each unit are of the same type. For example, there are two wavelengths of light and a few different standards using optical links such as Ethernet and FDDI. If you post the exact make and model of the devices at each end we'll be able to advise you
