192.168.1.5 ........class c ip .............24 bits for network and 8 bits for hosts
now to increase no. of hosts in an existing class we will have to make it classless cidr and do supernetting on the subnet
for this last octet can have 2 to power 8 =256 ip's and if i want 512 ip's then i will use up the last octet and take away
1 bit from the next octet
192.168.1.5 /23
255.255.254.0
> max host... 512......... 2 to power 9=512
