Status Of Cisco Lab
Our Lab's Internet connection has been completed.
The connection, for this stage of the lab, will be a 256/128Kbit (downstream/upstream). While this might be considered by many as a fairly slow connection, we strongly believe it will do the job because the lab will only require users to 'telnet' into the equipment, hence the low requirements. If later on we see that this is not enough, we can upgrade it as needed.
Having the Internet connection completed, we are now focusing on the important booking system. Unfortunately, we are experiencing a lot of problems with our installation and at the same time, planning to relocate our Firewall.cx server, which means this phase will be delayed a bit.
The booking system will allow our users to schedule their sessions and one very important feature is the use of our members existing accounts, so you are not required to re-register in order to book your session. This way, your Firewall.cx account will be tightly integrated with the Cisco Lab booking session.
There will be more information posted as soon as we have a breakthrough !
Thank you for your support and patience.

IDEA I MEAN SOME THING EDUCATIVE JUST FOR FREE . THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOD SENT BLESSING FOR ESPECIALLY WE STUDENTS OF CISCO NETWORKING IN (AFRICA ) WHERE MOST REQUIREMENTS ARE SCARCE.
Chris wrote: Because there have been a lot of people asking about the Cisco Lab, we decided to create an entire new forum, dedicated to the lab, from where we will be able to update you on any news and progress done.
We have decided the lab will include a total of 5 different labs which will be online simultaneously - allowing a maximum of 5 users on the machines.
Each lab will run separately from the rest, meaning users will not be able to interfere with others while working on their labs. Each lab configuration will be reset and lost once the time limit of 3 hours has been reached. Later on, we plan to introduce a feature where a 'save' option will be available.
At this point of time, we are working on the automatic scheduler module from where all bookings, rescheduling and cancellations will be made. This is perhaps one of the most difficult sections because it will be integrated with the site so our members will not be required to re-register in order to access the lab.
The complicated booking system has been undertaken by our new team member, George Thaniotis, who is now our official site coder. There will also be a news post on George and you will see him in our 'Meet the team' page within the next few days.
We'll be keeping you posted!!!![/quote

We've successfully managed to install our Booking system, after 6 weeks of problems, a newer version of the product was made available last week and helped us overcome all the problems we had.
The next step which we are already looking into, is the integration of the booking system with our Website. This involves a lot of coding and changes to both the booking system and our CMS but we are hoping that it won't require a lot of time to implement.
As always, we'll keep you up-to-date once we have further news.
Cheers,
