HUB---3845----GREE----2811----REMOTE
HUB and remote sites have a cable modem line. Cable company is giving me a cisco 800 router, 5 ports and 5 ips at each location.
I am connecting each 800 to a l3 FA port on each router and creating a GRE tunnel. Thus creating a virtual point-to-point connection. Now, my network is using EIGRP so in theory if the tunnel is up, i should now be able to broadcast within my private network and my remote site will learn the best path and use this new route/path.
Some back story, verizon is providing two t1 lines at my remote site and they run dirty, this solution will give me a backup that does not rely on verizons last mile. Can GRE do this? will it work within my private network and my eigrp setup? i need a yes or no, i am worried that IPSec not being able to send multicast / broadcast traffic will break my ability to load balance and use eigrp.
If this is good i will donate my configs and explain all the good stuff thanks guys
