i was jus ckin....n oh yeah i have picked up a new slang...i am a noob?that means new to hacking?
well anyways...how did the site get down? chkin online how someone externally can make a websiter redirect...anywone with any keywrds?
a redirect could only be done...if they had changed the source file for the index file of hackthissite.org right? no? okye any ideas would be cool?

rm is the linux command for 'delete'..
-rf means delete all subdirectories, and force the delete if the directory is not empty.
/www is a directory name where a website might be kept.
In short it means 'delete the whole website directory'.. a windows equivalent might be 'deltree c:\inetpub\wwwroot'.
The way they redirected and deleted the website is quite simple. They broke into the server.. and then basically had shell access (kinda like a DOS prompt) to the server.. from there they could delete the website.. or create an HTML page that redirects, and uploaded that in place of index.html
The actual method they used to get in is not clear right now.
