I know several of you wonder which Security Certification to pursue and what is the most sought after.
This article gives an overview of the current state of security certifications.

Quite a good read over @ www.securitypipeline.com/164302968;jsess...OQSNDBCCKHSCJUMEKJVN

Now if i could put my comments i would just say that

Certification is valuable but provided you have the stuff proposed in the certification.
Always remember Certification is just the cream on top of the cake.
The main content is your knowledge, profiecincy and skill in that particular foundation.

I agree completelly. Besides, if someone has not spent the time to experiment on his own and see how things are, he will have a much more difficult time trying to get familiar and effective with the security and administration principles required.
Also, many will exploit this, making things appear more complicate than they trully are to make money out of the individuals, guarantying "success with minimum time spent" and other such. Whoever sees things this way, trying to get a certification just for the sake of it, and then put aside anything related, will not succeed no matter what, especially in a field like Security, which requires creative and efficient thinking rather than following blindly standard procedures.
