Information system and Information Technology

hello !
can any one please tell me that what is difference between
Information system and Information Technology.

very brief and clear introduction needed.

I don't know about the others, but I look at Information Systems as hands on and Information Technology as theory. Thats the way that the university sets it up. IS guys work the networks and thr IT guys ponder it! haha seriously!
