Need some advice

Hi,
I am really interested in learning networks and do programming related to networks. I am consufesd as to where to start for it.

Can some one advice me how to go about learning network programming. Is there any site I can refer to or any books I can read.

You need to learn the basics read the guides on this site. Or pick up any basic networking book. once you get passed the basices the best way to learn is by doing. start by putting togethere a small home network.
you can use a home router. then try to setup a computer as your router. next you can play with some great free firewalls ipcop smoothwall .. then you can try to attack your systems .. have fun
