Hey thomp , i guess i muffed up my vocabulary a lil over there..
What i meant was , that this guy did not even know ,how many exams he had to clear before he can call himself as CCNP certified. If he really was a CCNP he would obviously know how many exams he had appeared for before he got the certification.I hope i am clear now

Thompsg -- the site is located in the US as Chris said, its team is located from everywhere from Greece, to the US, to Australia, to India so we're truely multinational hehe.
As far as the certs go yeah, it happens here in India quite a bit.. it happened a lot with the MCSE exams, then after those went outta style and CCNA become hot, it happened with CCNA.. its got better though.. now people can't advertise 'guaranteed certification'... but shady deals still happen.. I'd say about 40-50% of the people pass using dumps and end up getting into trouble when they get stuck in the real world with a flapping WAN link, 20 minutes to bring it up and a client breathing down their neck...

its ridiculous how easy it is to pass the mcse nowadays, the influx of exam dumps is unbelievable. i have both mcsa&mcse in 2000 & i'm presently doin the upgrades. i'm only young though and i need to learn this sorta stuff to progress in the IT field.
from a different forum i found a good analogy to describe the microsoft certification..
"MCSE is like the drivers licence for the delivery man. It's the baby stuff you have to have to start with.
The other certs are like light truck and heavy truck etc "
to add fire to the flame though, i do believe job titles vary a lot in respect to certs, when its comes to the mcse and ccna. mcse is more AD/DNS/client-server software side kinda thing where as the CCNA is obviously more hardware based, with routing/switching etc etc.. to have both is not nessasary if your job role, be it system engineer or network engineer doesnt require them both. you can set up servers, but it dont mean you have to configure the routing & switches for them aswell. they cost a lot of money the exams and the study and you need to do the one which benifits you the most, for what field of work you plan to work in, now and the future.
from tackling the first semester of the CCNA, i say experience is everything for you to succeed in the real world with this cert. and the ccnp is on another level completly

I totally agree with you guys, but make a note getting MCP maybe easy but knowing the core concepts of the Operating System is Difficult, what I mean to say how many of MCP holders knows to see an sid of an user account, create an User account in console with out using the GUI, demoting an dc without creating an event log, Securing DNS from Foot Printing, recursive resolution ??? Configuring DNS Proxy server etc ,etc... there are are a few topics which is not available in the press books so one must try and gain information in such areas.
What I mean to say is the MCP/MCSA holder must not only have book knowledge also try to gather some extra information and learn a few advance concepts, by that he can have an extra edge over the competeive world. and also at he same time have an solid understanding of the basics.
MCSE is an Well desinged cource. as Chris said if one is Intrested to gain more knowlege on LAN Network of an Windows Platform MCSE is the cource or One is Intrested in WAN technology and configuring routers I suggest and Basic Netwoking Knowledge and then CCNA.

Replied by amitchopra on topic MCSE AND CCNA advice notes
Hello eveybody,
I am recently join firewall.cx. Its one of the best site I have ever seen , specail thanks to the makers
well I have read some message which some guys say that "
MCSE " is no use (and somebody trying to say also CCNA is also
lose his ground)
well no suprise the people who trying to achieve their MCSE or
CCNA realy dispoint
But there is a good news for all of guys who trying to achieve
there MCSE and CCNA is That " I AM JOIN WITH YOU AND SOLVE
your problems "
so , what that's ,mean ...
First there is few important guideline to all of person who trying
to achieve international certifications.
Overlook
overlook those message who trying to say that IT IS NO USE TO
BECOME MCSE OR CCNA " May be this type of guys is evil" sorry
think about the degree course like MBA , B.Com , B.A. or another
degree course could you tell me how long it will be take to finish
and what you do after finish that course , are you get a good job...
ANS: I tell you around 3 to 4 years for your life to complete a
degree course and about this certifications course , its take
hardly one year to finish and your ready to put "MCSE AND
CCNA certificate " on your resume ( believe me it is a good )
this certification gives a good impression
but ... but... but...
YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS STUFF THAT'S IT
if you are a paper "MCSE and CCNA" my advice is first to learn
the material again with open hearts and then spend some
time in networking area . it will take some time may 2 or 3
years if you are struck to this line , you will get a good life
but be serious and be a quick learner
Take a practical experince
For MCSE : first arrange a computer and load windows by your
own hands then take a good book (like sybex or
Microsoft books ) and read carefully "do not spend
money in computer Insitute to learn windows"
for learning windows pro or XP is easy to learn on
stand alone computer
for windows 2000 and 2003 just add a "network card"
in your computer again no need for another computer
(its better if you have) and install a "active Directory"
(If you do not know how to install ask me I will tell
you)
( if you have no computer : That's mean you should first purchase
a computer (Pent. II or IV) then start
study because soon or later you need it)
The computer Insitute then make a role if you have not a computer
FOR CCNA :
1 : Choose a good institute , see your own eyes that they have a
a router , switch and ISDN line .
2: Then check are they provide router simulator
3: purchase a good book
for the poor students:
if there is a time to arrange a money for joining a CCNA classes
you can do couple of thing in a mean while :
1: purchase a sybex book written by Todd lamle
2 read to the first chapter and understand the concept read
the lab example carefully
3: check firewall.cx for CCNA topic and log on to
www.techexams.net/techlabs/ccna/lab_hardware.shtml
for router hardware example.
4: log on to www.toggit.com for networking stuff and they provide
router simulator for free get some practice on it..
They are other points but I disscue all of them in my next message
tell me what you think about this mail I am eagerly waiting for your reply.....
