Haven't heard of any. That's like asking if there is a college degree in Windows. There is, however, a Linux+ certification by CompTIA. I'm curious as to why someone would want to spend 2-4 years in college and spend all that money for a degree that would primarily show that he/she knows linux. From what I have heard, college majors/degrees are created based on society's demand for people with knowledge in those majors, perhaps the demand for such a major/degree hasn't come up yet.

The specifics of an(y) individual OS is too narrow of a subject to compose a gnostical field/subfield on it's own at academic level -gnu linux is no exception. You can ofcourse choose to emphasize in certain applications/implementations in unix operating systems throughout your studies by picking relative courses and/or submiting a related thesis.

The above are correct. You're looking for a degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, things like that. Linux is just your tool in that.

If there's one thing I hate, it's everything.

The LPI exams are a lot better than the Linux+. They also offer more advanced levels of certification that the standard Linux+. There are also a ton of RedHat and other vendor specific certs that are out there. As far as degrees go, you are probably looking for Computer Science like Unforgiven said.

And trust me, if you make it through an established Computer Science program, you should have no problem passing any Linux certs.
