Tutorial Setting Up Snort

hello..i would really appriciate if firewall.cx team could release tutorials on how to setup/setting snort in windows and linux...i have refer to some website regarding how to setting up snort but still cannot make it successful...i really like your linux tutorails section..very neat and easy to understand...really appriciate if you can make the same tutorails for snort..thanks

A great resource I have found for SNORT related topics is the Sans Reading Room.

Browse through some of these:

or check out their whole library:

Which distribution are you using? If its Debian, a simple

apt-get install snort

will do the trick.


However I will write up a little tutorial, maybe in this thread itself.
