Vlan thr'u Firewall was created by crapo
Hi,
I want to set up one vlan across a symantec 5400 series firewall.
Both group of computers are found in 2 diferrent zones.
Must the firewall support 802.1q (which I cannot find anywhere on the product specs)?

Hi Crapo,
As far as I know the VLAN subject, I would say that your firewall will have to support VLAN 802.1q tag stripping if you want it to filter on VLANS.
If it doesn't support VLAN 802.1q stripping, it will just threat all traffic without taking VLAN tags into account
As said I'm not realy an expert on this so you'd better cross check this
Regards,
Stefan
