Something for Sahirh - Virus? was created by tfs
I was working with the guy I am working for on setting up a VPN tunnel between my Sonicwall and his Cisco 3005.
We cannot get it to connect. The logs show them talking to each other, but the Cisco is dropping the connection because of an error that says something like
Tunnel rejected: Policy not found for Src:14.255.61.33, Dst:
10.23.0.0!
The one it is rejecting is mine. But he claims that it is set up to accept mine. Not sure what the problem is.
But in troubleshooting the problem we were pinging to bring up the tunnel and all of a sudden I get this:
[code:1]
Pinging 172.105.7.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Ping statistics for 172.105.7.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
C:\>Delancy Street in San Francisco and Crossroads in Claremont
[/code:1]
I have never seen anything like this. Curious if this is some type of virus. If it is, Norton didn't find it and there is no mention on Google of this particular response.
Anyone have any ideas?
Come Sahirh - one for you to chew on.

Ok this one takes the cake ! !
First off.. can you reproduce the message by pinging again ?
Second
Are you sure its not a cut-paste job that happened accidentally ? Windows has the right mouse button set to paste in quick-mark mode in the console.. that seems like the only viable explanation !!
This one has me stumped.. sounds like something outta The Da Vinci Code..

Must be a Cisco problem day .....would you beleive that I am setting up a Cisco 3005 here in the office and ofcourse, I too am having problems establishing the tunnel between my workstation and 3005 device, but never got a ping reply like yours !!!!!
As I continue to work with the 3005, if I find any info or problems similar to yours, I'll let you know!!

I was thinking that, also (about the cut and paste). But can't remember seeing that before. I just assumed it happened while futzing (technical term) with the Cisco problem.
Let me know if you solve your problem. We are going to look at hours back at the office today.
Interesting little tidbit. The person I am working with, who is dealing with the Cisco is named ... Chris.
Aaaaahhhhh. Twilight zone. Maybe this is some sort of dimensional shift or something.
