PIX/ASA and IBM 3172 Compatability was created by preshv
I am just about ready to bring up my PIX /ASA and have come up against an issue between the PIX/ASA and the IBM 3172.
Here is the problem:
I am unable to connect to an IBM 3172 interface via my PIX/ASA. I have tried to ping the 3172 interface and it does not respond. I can assign the IP address of the 3172 to another device and it responds to ping traffic.
The firewall can communicate with all other devices on the network where the 3172 is attached.
I have come across issues before where certain devices cannot interface with other devices. As an example the IBM OSA adapter does not communicate with the Cisco 1900 switch ports.
I have done some searches on the internet and I cannot find any instances where anyone else has had this issue.
So my question is this, is there a compatibility issue between the IBM 3172 and PIX/ASA interface / IOS.
Thanks for the help in advance.
