ASA5505, tons of "duplicate tcp syn from outside" messages......what does this mean and how do I correct it?

It probably means that you are dropping SYN packets and the sender will retransmit trying to establish a session.

You can limit the embryonic connections with the static or any translation statement for that matter . Ideally unlimited connections are allowed that`s the reason you see tonnes of them .
