I have installed squid and dansguardian on my firewall server and both are up. Here i have one doubt
1. Is there any sequence of starting these both i.e i mean first squid and then Dansguardian next?
After i have started squid and dansguardian, i configured my browser to dansguardian port and was able to browse and it works well.
Now i have my server running that performs simple steps like
1. Status of dansguardian or squid
2. Start dansguardian or squid
3. Stop dansguardian or squid
Now coming to my problem, i have a client that has a small gui that shows the status of dansguardian or squid and also enables user to start or stop dansguardian or squid.
One of the problem what i encountered is, in /etc/dansguardian/bannedsitelist, i added a site say yahoo.com,
in the server, i am updating this entry in bannedsitelist file and simply restarting dansguardian. Here i am confused . Browser is not banning the site what i have entered. I guess i am missing the flow or sequence of starting or restarting or stop the dansguardian or squid properly. Can some one help me in this regard
